Paul has worked at LJMU since 1998. In that time Paul has taught on a wide variety of teacher training programmes both at Undergraduate Level and Postgraduate QTS.

From 2008 -20014 Paul led the LJMU Teach First Programme. He is currently Primary Programme Leader with the specific role of overseeing the BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS course.

Paul teachers mathematics and Professional Studies. His own research interests lie in how children develop mental mathematical skills and how such skills link to mathematical understanding.

He is also an External Examiner for Teach First PGCE at Northumbria University
