Biography

Wilfred is a Senior Lecturer in construction project management specialising in Total Cost Management (TCM), risk management strategies and general cost engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Building (with Merit) from the Copperbelt University, Kitwe Zambia; and a Master of Science (MSc) (with Distinction) in Construction Project Management from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK. His Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Civil and Environmental Engineering was obtained from the National University of Ireland – Cork (University College Cork, UCC). Wilfred is a Chartered Builder (MCIOB)with an interest in research related to whole life cost management using information and communication technologies such as building information models (BIM) and computer aided taking-off (CATO); total cost management and risk management strategies for public sector clients in developing nations. His past research has been useful in setting the scene for information modelling in cost engineering as well as the strategic prospects for total cost managers in a changing business environment. He has past teaching experience with the Copperbelt University, School of the Built Environment, Kitwe Zambia, as well as the University of Central Lancashire, Preston, UK. He also has past experience working as a consultant quantity surveyor with Stellar Quantity Surveying Services (UK), Mwitumwa and Associates Quantity Surveyors and Building Economists (Lusaka, Zambia) and Simon Carves Engineering (UK).
