Biography

I joined the Department of Computer Science of LJMU as a Lecturer in Networking in August 2019. I received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Telecommunications Engineering from the University Mediterranea of Reggio Calabria (UNIRC), Italy in 2004 and 2007, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Wireless Communications from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, Spain in 2015. From 2007 to 2009, I was a Research Assistant with UNIRC. I joined the Department of Computer Science of LJMU in 2015, working as a Research Fellow until August 2019.

My research interests include wireless networks optimization, dynamic spectrum access in cognitive radio networks, Software-Defined Networking and heterogeneous networks. I have been co-investigator of the Wi-5 research project funded by the Horizon 2020 (H2020) Framework Programme of the European Union, and have been involved in the SALICE project funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MIUR), the OneFIT project funded by the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) of the European Union, and the 5G project funded by the Sensor City consortium of Liverpool.

I have served as Technical Program Committees (TPC) member of several IEEE conferences, including IEEE ICC, WCNC, ISCC and VTC and as reviewer for IEEE and non-IEEE conferences, and peer-reviewed journals. I am Guest Editor of Elsevier Computer Networks and a Founding Member of the Special Interest Group (SIG) on Social Behaviour Driven Cognitive Radio Networks.
