Dr Po Yang

Biography

Dr Po Yang is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at Liverpool John Moores University. His research areas include Internet of Things, Pervasive Healthcare, Image Processing and Parallel Computing. He graduated with a BSc (hons) in Computer Science from Wuhan University in China in 2004, an M.Sc in Computer Science from the University of Bristol in 2006 and a Ph.D in Electronic Engineering from the University of Staffordshire in 2010.

Dr Yang leads 4 PhD students working in Pervasive Healthcare and Internet of Things. Since 2006, he has generated over 70 international journal and conference papers in the fields of Pervasive Healthcare, Image Processing, Parallel Computing and RFID related internet of things (IoT) applications. He serves as an Associate Editor in IEEE Journal of Translational Engineering in Health and Medicine and IEEE Access.

His research work has been supported by European FP6/FP7/H2020, UK EPSRC, Innovate UK over 10 years, including 8 EU projects and 4 EPSRC/TSB funded projects. Also, I serve as the Guest Editor for 4 International Journals, the Reviewers for 18 International Journals (10 Trans), and have chaired/co-chaired over 10 international conferences and workshops. I received 4 Best Paper Awards from IEEE PiCOM 2015, HPCSC 2013, IEEE ICAC 2008, IEEE ICAC 2007, and was invited to deliver 2 invited talks at the international conferences in the area of Internet of Things enabled Healthcare.
