Biography

Dr. Wasiq KHAN is a Senior Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence & Data Sciences within the Department of Computer Science at Liverpool John Moores University, UK. He is also a Visiting Consultant for an EU funded research project (iBorderCtrl: http://www.iborderctrl.eu/) at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. Wasiq received his B.Sc. in Mathematics, Physics and Geography from the University of Punjab, PK; following an M.Sc. in Computer Science from COMSATS University, PK. At Bradford University UK, He completed an M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence for Board Games following a Ph.D. in Speech Processing & Intelligent Reasoning and a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education (PGCHEP).

Wasiq is research active within the domain of Computational Intelligence, Video/Image/Speech data processing and Data Science. Previously, Wasiq has been working as a Project Manager and Lead researcher on various Large-Scale research projects in collaborations with Academic Institutions and Industry across the globe. Wasiq has successfully delivered various large-scale projects covering Artificial Intelligence and Data Science applications in various domains mostly including: Aero-Space, UAVs, Object tracking in videos, Sensor fusion applications, Medical and Bio-informatics, Defence and Security systems, Comprehension analysis, Speech & Speaker verification/identification, Route optimization and Robotics.

Wasiq has been publishing the research outcomes in peer reviewed conferences, high impact Journals, News blogs & Media, Scientific and public events. He is an active reviewer for top ranked Journals and government funding bodies including EPSRCS, STFC and NIHR. Along with his research activities, He is fully involved in teaching, administrative roles and Ph. D supervisions. Wasiq has established academic citizenship within his research domain along with his Fellowship of Higher Education Academy, UK.
