Dr Giorgio Carta

Biography

I am a Research Fellow at the Department of Maritime and Mechanical Engineering of Liverpool John Moores University.
I am working under the EPSRC project "Mathematical fundamentals of Metamaterials for multiscale Physics and Mechanics", under the supervision of Prof. Ian Jones.
My research interests are in the following areas: elastic waves, dispersion analysis, microstructured media, auxetic materials, metamaterials, random systems, fracture mechanics, seismic design, fluid-solid interaction, plasticity, thermodynamics, mechanics of structures and solids, structural engineering, numerical methods.
