Biography

Dr Russell English received his BEng (Mechanical Engineering) in 1989 and his PhD in the area of contact mechanics in 1993, both from the University of Liverpool. He joined LJMU as a Senior Lecturer in mechanical engineering in 1993. In 2004 he was promoted to Principal Lecturer responsible for collaborative partnership programmes both in the UK and Internationally. His main research interests are in the areas of bioengineering (design and longevity of joint replacements), footwear biomechanics, structural integrity, and finite element methods.
