Biography

Dr George Kamaris is a Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering. Prior LJMU, he worked as Lecturer at the University of Derby, as Marie Curie Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the School of Engineering at the University of Warwick and as Post-Doctoral Researcher in C.E.A. (Commissariat à l’Énergie Atomique et aux Énergies Alternatives) in France. He holds a MEng in Civil Engineering (2004), an MSc in Structural Engineering (2006) and a PhD in Structural Dynamics and Seismic Design of Steel Structures (2011) from the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Patras (Greece). His research interests lie in the areas of earthquake engineering, resilient damage-free structural systems, probabilistic seismic assessment of structures and finite element analysis. Dr Kamaris is an author of numerous journal papers, peer reviewed papers in international conferences and book chapters.
