Dr Muhammad Ateeq

School of Engineering

Dr. Muhammad Ateeq is a Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the School of Engineering. He is responsible for delivering modules in the Electrical & Electronics Engineering & Mechanical Engineering clusters of the School in various areas of Engineering, Technology and Finance. He is also working as a Team Leader (part-time) in Library Services at Liverpool John Moores University.

In his previous role, he worked as a Research & Teaching Assistant in the Low Carbon Eco-Innovatory, School of Civil Engineering & Built Environment at the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, LJMU. He worked on a highly competitive business-focused research project in Low Carbon Technologies.

He has received his PhD in Civil and Microwaves Engineering & MSc in Telecommunications Engineering (with distinction) from Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom. He has received his BCS (Hons.) in Computer Science from Edwardes College (University of Peshawar), Pakistan.

His research interests cover a range of Engineering and technology areas such as the Design and development of Electromagnetic wave sensors for various industrial applications, Non-invasive and non-destructive Electromagnetic wave analysis and characterisation of materials, Sensors and Instrumentation, Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT technologies, AR/VR technologies, Renewable energies and energy from waste technologies, Microwave engineering and processing of materials, 3D modelling, simulations and analysis using COMSOL Multiphysics, HFSS and Solidworks, Rheological mechanical and viscosity studies of bituminous binders, Design of new bituminous mixes for pavement applications, Mechanical testing of road construction materials (aggregates, bitumen and recycled materials), Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for real-time monitoring and mapping, Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems.

His teaching responsibilities cover modules from L4 to L7, specifically, Mobile Devices and Wireless Technology. Sensor Technology, Embedded Systems, The Smart Environment, Industrial Management, MSc Group Design Projects, Professional and Leadership Skills, Sensor and Data Analytics, Sensor Network and Data Analytics. He is also supervising a number of BSc, MSc and PhD students.
