As a lecturer for LJMU, Bérnard delivers Limon Principles through Studio Practice, creative workshops in Choreography/Site work, Music Composition and music accompaniment. At present he is Leading tutor for undergraduate performance company, U.n.I dance (formerly known as JMUpstart Dance Company) .
After receiving a CETL (Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning) award and sabbatical to visit the Limon Institute in New York, Bérnard focuses his practice through the exploration of Music enhancement and composition, taking place within both Choreography and Movement (technique) Pedagogy
He is currently pursuing his research into the impact of Pulse/rhythm, movement and physicality of the body. Bérnard experienced a career as a performer in the UK and Europe. Within an artistic role, Bérnard has produced choreographic works commissioned by the Royal Opera House Education Unit, Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, MDI, Lowry, Cumbria Arts and JMUpstart for the Edinburgh Fringe.
He is frequently invited to adjudicate performance events, guest deliver professional classes throughout Europe and across the United Kingdom.
