Biography

I was born in 1976 in Natal (Brazil) where I got a Bachelor degree in Chemistry. Then I moved to Recife (Brazil) to do a Master and PhD in chemistry in the field of spectroscopy and theoretical chemistry applied to lanthanide compounds. Afterwards I went to Switzerland and finally to Germany, where I got the Alexander von Humboldt fellowship to work with supramolecular systems like dye-loaded zeolite L crystals. After seven years in Europe, I became assistant professor at the São Carlos Institute of Chemistry of the University of São Paulo (USP) and after almost five years working at USP I became Lecturer in Physical Chemistry at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) in the United Kingdom, to work with the application of molecular modelling techniques to investigate supramolecular systems and nanomaterials.
