Sports Nutritionist for professional boxer Rocky Fielding
PhD: Growing, Building and Repairing Elite Rugby Players: Nutritional and Energetic Considerations
Supervisory Team: Prof. Graeme Close, Prof. James Morton and Dr. Robert Erskine.
Research Focus: James' main area of study is the physiology, anthropometric, metabolism and nutritional demands of elite rugby training and match play.
Employment: The Football Association as a Performance Nutritionist with the 16 England National Football teams.
Applied Work: James studied his undergraduate degree and Masters degree programs both at LJMU before beginning his PhD. In this time and to the present day, he has built up 5 years experience working directly with elite athletes from professional rugby players, football players and boxers in regarding to sport science with a focus on performance nutrition. This has included Widnes Vikings, Warrington Wolves, West Ham United and now England Football.
