Dr James Rudd (Senior Lecturer in Physcal Education ) is an academic member of staff with teaching duties. James has expert knowledge of motor learning and physical education pedagogy with a focus on supporting children's development from areas of low socio economic status. His latest research is on the development of physical literacy in children through designing and evaluating PE curriculums and sports programmes with a focus on developing movement skills, self-regulating capacities, motivation and proficiency. The goal of his research is to provide holistic support for children enabling them to move skilfully, effectively and efficiently, and thereby equipping them to navigate successfully the changes they will experience as they move from childhood, to adolescence and beyond. James has many years experience of working in schools in the UK and in Australia, and continues to work closely with schools to support and enhance their Physical Education provision.
