Dr. Moataz Alhilou is an Academic Board Member at LJMU, the principal academic body at the University, overseeing the overall planning, coordination, development, and supervision of the academic work of the University and oversight of the four core aims of the strategic plan. The Academic Board is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor & Chief Executive and the Board of Governors for providing guidance, advice, and assurance that academic governance is effective.
In addition, Dr. Alhilou is a Senior Lecturer in Strategic Management at Liverpool Business School and Module Leader of both 5059BUSBM Retail Management and 6058BUSBM Environmental Management.
Dr. Alhilou holds a BSc with an Honours degree and got his MSc with distinction from Warwick University. He also got his Ph.D. from Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) at The Universty of Manchester.
Dr. Alhilou has a balanced experience between academic and practice. Prior to his academic career, he worked for many years as a Management Advisor and Human Capital consultant in the management and consulting industry. Before joining LJMU, Dr. Alhilou was involved in developing and delivering knowledge as a lecturer, facilitator and seminar leader for different modules for both undergraduates and postgraduates at AMBS. He also received the Teaching Assistant Award 2016, in recognition of excellence in teaching at AMBS.
His research is focused on Strategy Management and Strategy Implementation with a particular focus on the strategic processes and factors that could influence that processes from initiation to implementation. He welcomes applications from potential research candidates with similar research interests.
Dr. Alhilou is a reviewer for the International Journal of Public Leadership (IJPL), Academy of Management, the Academy of Management, and a number of other national and international journals.
