Strategic Business Initiatives

Head: Lynn Hill

Lynn Hill

The underpinning statement in the University‚Äôs strategic plan refers to our aim to have excellent financial stewardship so that we can continue to invest in our future.  That statement sums up the focus of this small professional team based in the Finance and Resource Services Division.  We are here to ensure that every business-related project agreed as a strategic aim of the University, from relatively straightforward initiatives to large complex activities is undertaken properly to deliver best possible value for the University.  Value is not only viewed as a financial benefit at LJMU, we want to make sure that every new activity we embark upon at LJMU has a transformational impact on our student community, for the working environment of our staff and ultimately of course, as a positive outcome for the business of the University.

Our work ranges from developing and writing business plans, the commercial management of contracts for the delivery of projects and identifying and delivering more efficient mechanisms for the operation of the University.  Recent and current projects include the initiation and delivery of a new bespoke print system for all staff and students; the development of innovative models, specifically relating to the utility contracts for the University and project management as part of the Estates strategy and masterplan.
