Funding for your business idea and start-up
We've given over £1 million of funding to start-ups. The Bathgate Start-up fund is currently on hold and we are not accepting new applications for the time being, whilst we prepare our new offer. If you have submitted an application or you are waiting on the outcome of an application, you will contacted in due course.
We will post information about our new funding provision here as soon as it is confirmed.
The Start-up Visa enables successful international applicants to remain in the UK for two years to develop and establish their business.

LJMU’s Centre for Entrepreneurship runs a year-long programme for current LJMU postgraduate international students, helping to prepare applications for the Start-up Visa. This programme is designed to run alongside current postgraduate studies at LJMU.

When you’re ready to get your venture under way, our business adviser has a wealth of business knowledge to help you navigate your start-up journey. Our adviser can also signpost you to specialist support in the local area. Whatever your business idea, we’re here to help you think critically and evaluate the possibilities.

You can sign up to a varied programme of start-up related half day sessions and enterprise training events throughout the year.
