So you’ve got an idea for a project, a new event or seed of a business idea? In your gut, you know it has potential, but are not sure where to start? Come to one of our bite sized workshop to take your first step with testing out your idea.

You can then decide if you want to pitch for up to £250 Bathgate Try It Out funding

Start up meet ups

Our monthly drop in style, short and sweet advice giving / networking style event is held at the LJMU Centre for Entrepreneurship space G14, Ground Floor, Aldham Robarts Library in an informal setting.

You will work with members of the LJMU Centre for Entrepreneurship team who will help you decide what type/s of support to grow your idea you really need to grow your confidence to develop your start up idea.

Expect to meet a range of current LJMU students and graduates at varying stages of thinking up an idea through to a bit further down the line with their business start-up journey.

Start up school

Date: 20th - 24th May 2019

You have researched your idea and are ready to get going and start trading, this boot camp style programme is just for you!

You’ll work in small groups of other LJMU students whilst learning the fundamentals of starting-up and being to build valuable network contacts with business leaders from across Merseyside.

Date: 3rd - 21st June 2019

You are going to take your leadership, entrepreneurial and professional skills development to the next level with this bespoke, in-depth and fast paced 3-week programme.

You will work in teams of five to move an idea from a concept to a costed proposal through speaking to customers, users and stakeholders.

Students from all levels and subject disciplines are encouraged to apply – there will be five themed team roles available on four teams.

You will need to able to attend all dates of the training – so please only apply for this opportunity if you are able to attend every day of the programme.

A stipend of £800 will be paid at the end of the programme.
