Mass Covid testing pilot

LJMU is supporting the mass COVID-19 testing programme being carried out in Liverpool.

The testing is available to anyone who lives, works or studies in the city and does not have symptoms of COVID-19.

The pilot scheme will help experts understand the spread of the virus and new testing strategies and reduce the transmission of the virus in Liverpool.

If you do not have symptoms, you can visit one of the mass testing centres without an appointment. If you would prefer to book a slot in advance, you can do so online or via the NHS COVID app.

Repeat testing is encouraged, so health experts recommend we are tested at least twice during this pilot scheme.

There are 21 mass testing centres in operation across the city (7am-7pm), including at our own IM Marsh campus as part of LJMU's support for the programme. We have made the site available as part of our support for our community and city.

This webpage is useful and will tell you how busy each of the testing centres is at any time.

You can find more information about the testing programme on Liverpool City Council's website.

If you do have COVID symptoms

If you have any of the symptoms of COVID-19, you should not visit one of the mass testing centres or book a test via the process above.

Instead, you should immediately self-isolate and book a test through LJMU's testing centre – this process is only for staff and students with COVID symptoms.
