Graduation and alumni

As you will know, we postponed our July 2021 graduation ceremonies due to the government advice in June of a four week delay on the lifting of restrictions.

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19 in the Liverpool City Region, including the recommendations about continuing social distancing and limiting travel into and out of the area, we have taken the hugely difficult decision to cancel all plans for graduation ceremonies in 2021. This does not currently affect the ceremonies scheduled for January 2022 and eligible graduates will be contacted by email later in the year.

The decision to cancel our ceremonies during 2021 was not made lightly and the disappointment at this news will be felt deeply across LJMU.

However, by providing confirmation that our ceremonies this year are now cancelled, rather than postponed, we understand it may be easier for many graduates to arrange for refunds for related travel and accommodation.

More detailed information for students is on the Graduation webpages.

We will continue to look for opportunities to celebrate with our incredible graduates in the future.

Please encourage final year students and alumni you are in touch with to activate their graduate account on our online alumni platform, LJMU Connect, as invitations to register for our graduation ceremonies will be sent via this route, as well as to their LJMU (if applicable) and personal email addresses.

Students and alumni can find more information about graduation and on the support we offer to all graduates as they consider their next steps on our dedicated graduation webpages.
