Face coverings

The wearing of face coverings (masks or scarves) is mandatory at LJMU. Face coverings are to be worn inside buildings unless people have medical exemption. Externally on campus masks do not need to be worn if 2m social distancing can be maintained.

We require you to wear a face covering in the following areas:

  • Classrooms
  • Libraries
  • Lecture theatres
  • Corridors
  • Social spaces
  • Reception areas
  • Laboratories
  • Studios

LJMU reusable face coverings are available for everyone – you can collect them from reception desks in LJMU buildings. Please don’t be embarrassed about wearing them, it shows you care about others.

There will be a small number of staff and students who will be exempt - for health reasons - from wearing face coverings. A Sunflower lanyard must be worn at all times and can be requested via Student Advice and Wellbeing Services, who will send an email to the student to approve their request. The student must present their confirmation email at Reception who will then issue a Sunflower lanyard.
