Support on campus
Attendance on campus
You will be provided with your own personal timetable which will detail the times you are expected on campus. This will be for a whole range of activities related to your programme of study and will include lab work, seminars, practicals and group work. Your timetable will normally be available to you in September on MyLJMU.
You will also have allocated time for library use and to see your Personal Tutor, this will also be detailed in your personal timetable.
You will be required to have your Student ID Card with you at all times when you are expected on campus or visiting the library or support services.
Placements and field trips
Within the guidelines of the prevailing government advice we are looking at how we can manage field trips safely and we are creating new ways of broadening the student experience across all disciplines. In the first semester we will not be permitting any international placements. This will be kept under review during the academic year.
All of our support services are available for you online, via phone and where possible, by appointment to see someone face-to-face. This is all detailed on our website and further details will be provided so you know exactly where to go to if you need help, guidance, advice and support.
Our Careers Service is operating a successful online service and advisors are available for consultation either online, by phone or through scheduled face-to-face sessions.
Our student job agency, Unitemps, has a range of paid work opportunities specifically for LJMU students and the team will help you find appropriate work.
Libraries and IT
We have three libraries and these have been adapted to allow safe use of the building and to observe social distancing. This naturally reduces the number of students that can be in the building at any one time and in the first instance, library time will be scheduled so that you can make the most of your time in the space.
Library spaces will be cleaned regularly and sanitisers will be available throughout the buildings.
We are currently working through the process for students to access LJMU laptops safely and to ensure that we are able to provide students with appropriate IT.
