Experiential Learning and Competency-Based Education Landscape Workshop

Experiential Learning and Competency-Based Education Landscape (EXCEL) is a framework developed by the Academic Excellence Division, Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) Malaysia aimed at transforming academic programs to produce lifelong learners, innovative adept entrepreneurs, creative practitioners and change-makers. The framework on EXCEL is one of the steps taken by the MoHE to improve graduate employability.

EXCEL aims to address the imminent issues of graduates’ skill mismatch and skill gaps. It is focused on providing learning experiences that are nested in the community and immersions in the industry. Through the implementation of this framework, students of higher education institutions will be given the opportunity to indulge in meaningful research and pave their own learning pathways.

This half day workshop is designed for educators, trainers, and anyone interested in exploring and implementing innovative teaching and learning approaches that focus on creating the transferable skills and competencies that are essential to success in higher education.

Alumni UK Challenge Fund and Alumni UK Symposium

Date: Saturday 25 February 2023

Time: 9am to 5pm

Venue: M Resort Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

The inaugural Alumni UK Symposium will launch British Council Malaysia's 75th anniversary celebrations. It is an exclusive, invitation-only one-day event designed to create connections between UK alumni (graduates from UK universities) and to recognise their aspirations and collective potential.  Themed “Bridging opportunities”, the symposium aims to provide a platform for UK alumni to interact and make connections, deepen professional relationships and to build a strong network of influencers for public good and long-term engagement with the UK.

Alumni UK Careers Fair will take place alongside our first Alumni UK Symposium on 25 February 2023. Showcasing about 20 employers, the Careers Fair will provide an outstanding opportunity for UK Alumni to explore exciting career options with diverse companies who are keen to engage our exceptionally talented and ambitious UK Alumni who have globally recognised qualifications from UK higher education institutions.  This is a prime opportunity for UK Alumni who are at different stages in their professional lives and careers to consider expanding their opportunities in a wide range of fields, including business and management, engineering, technology, healthcare, economics, law, social work and sustainable development.
