Substance Misuse and Homelessness: Learning Day

PHI's Mark Whitfield and Gordon Hay present at the Substance Misuse and Homelessness: Learning Day

Mark Whitfield and Gordon Hay presented at the Substance Misuse and Homelessness: Learning Day organised by the Queen’s Nursing Institute which took place on 19 October in Liverpool’s Bluecoat Arts Centre with attendees from around the country.

They spoke about the evaluation of 2015’s REST “wet centre” for homeless street drinkers, with discussion around successes and challenges of both the project itself and the evaluation. The day’s other topics included sessions on novel psychoactive substances, helping vulnerable substance users during pregnancy and substances and their health harms in the context of homelessness.
