About The Liverpool Institute for Research in Education

We conduct research and evaluation across all sectors of education and in activities concerned with learning outside the traditional boundaries of institutions.

The Liverpool Institute for Research in Education manages and co-ordinates a wide range of educational research including:

  • Early years, primary, secondary and higher education
  • Sports education
  • Leadership studies
  • Formal and informal learning

What have we achieved?

Our external research funding has more than doubled since early 2008. This has led to an increase in the volume of outputs including over 200 peer reviewed articles and book chapters, 19 books and 24 keynote presentations as well as numerous collaborative links and research activities and service user groups within the UK and overseas.
