2. About MEMARC

   The Mechanical Engineering and Materials Research Centre (MEMARC) specialises in fracture and contact mechanics, wave propagation in lattices and microstructures, thermal fatigue and thermal striping, materials development and processing, as well as dynamics and control systems. 3. Faye Mills

   Faye is a 2023 graduate of LJMU, having studied law. She had, at times, a challenging experience at university, discovering she had dyslexia and a degenerative condition that impacted on her memory and conversation. But she showed resilience, courage and determination, with support from her family and LJMU, to successfully complete her studies.

4. David Russell

   David is an engineering graduate of LJMU who now works in the research and technology sector. Like many fellow students, David’s journey to university didn’t quite go to plan after he received lower than expected A-level results. But it’s this adversity that set him on a new path through university, and one that he’s grateful for, as he adapted and embraced everything student life has to offer.
