    The Forensic anthropology group is committed to the development of protocols and guidelines to increase the reliability of the recovery, documentation and analysis of human remains. We provide casework consultancy for forensic anthropological analysis, facial approximation and mass grave excavation.   6. Violence and unintentional injury

    As a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Violence Prevention, the Public Health Institute works to support effective violence prevention by helping partners understand the impacts of violence, identify risk groups, choose preventative measures and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.

  7. Environment and sustainability

    At the Public Health Institute we provide advice to policymakers in consideration of the relationship between the environment and public health. Projects include: the use of parks, climate change, economic benefits of green infrastructure and evaluation of green projects for the community.

  8. Intelligence and surveillance

    The Public Health Institute's data collection and monitoring systems support public health reporting. Our surveillance systems include: Integrated Monitoring System, Trauma and Injury Intelligence Group, HIV Surveillance and the Drug Interventions Programme.
