Useful Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Definitions
What is Equality, Diversity and Inclusion?
Equality is ensuring equality of opportunity and that people are not discriminated against on the basis of their protected characteristics (age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation)
Diversity is about valuing the differences between the protected characteristics and appreciating them without prejudice and discrimination.
Inclusion is a universal human right which embraces all people irrespective of their protected characteristics to eliminate discrimination.
