Embedding a Continuous Improvement Culture at LJMU

Support for Managers and Staff

With collaboration from the University of Strathclyde: Glasgow (THE Awards 2019 University of the Year) LJMU is aiming to adopt a culture and approach of continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement (CI) is an ongoing effort to improve services, processes and products in order to enhance the experience of our students, staff and stakeholders. CI is achieved not through one specific method or technique, it is a mind-set and attitude based on the idea that there is always a better way of doing things. Approaches to CI should include involvement from all stakeholders to shape the way that work is done, based on their practical experiences. It should also focus on enhancing benefits and clear objectives, with the development of consistent approaches.

The LDF is introducing a range of sessions and activities across the next year and beyond to help support staff who would like to find out more. These will include Introduction to CI workshops, and briefing sessions on “Comm Cells” and how they can help embed CI within your own areas. The LDF is also available to provide bespoke guidance and sessions for teams and managers. To find out more, please visit our event calendar or contact us.

“Continuous Improvement: The Art of the Possible” will be the key theme of this year’s Professional Services Conference, taking place on Thursday 25th June.
