Take control of your own future
Completing a postgraduate degree at LJMU could be the start of a more fulfilling career.
Emma Smith first joined the University as a mature student, graduating with first class honours in BSc (Hons) Environmental Science (now taught as part of BSc (Hons) Wildlife Conservation). She is now researching cold water corals in the deep ocean as part of her PhD and has ambitions to become a university lecturer.
As I would like to be a university lecturer, obtaining a PhD is essential. I'm also currently completing an HE teaching qualification alongside my studies and this is free for all LJMU research students.
