The Summer Universities at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) are a fantastic way to find out what life at university is really like. The whole programme is free of charge to students in Years 12/13 and all we ask is that you fund your own way to and from Liverpool.

You will spend three days and two nights working alongside our academic staff and current students. By staying in real student accommodation you will get a feeling for what it is like to live away from home. If you are from outside of Liverpool, you will have the option of a city-tour, taking in the sights and sounds of our amazing city. In addition everybody will go out each night for food in the centre of Liverpool and afterwards will take part in a range of evening activities to keep you entertained and enable you to meet new people and make friends.

The daytime academic sessions are designed to give you a real taste of what it would be like to study at LJMU and help you to decide which course is right for you!

The Geography Summer University programme will give students the opportunity to work alongside senior lecturers in the department both in the University’s teaching building and also out on a one-day field trip. Exploring the way in which our physical environment develops and how humans affect natural processes and interact within the world is the basis of this vocational programme, which offers plenty of opportunities to apply your knowledge in practical contexts. As well as studying a range of highly topical subject areas, you will also have access to the latest GIS software as well as state-of-the-art equipment so that you can hone your analytical skills in the laboratory.
