The Summer Universities at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) are a fantastic way to find out what life at university is really like. The whole programme is free of charge to students in Years 12/13 and all we ask is that you fund your own way to and from Liverpool.

You will spend three days and two nights working alongside our academic staff and current students. By staying in real student accommodation you will get a feeling for what it is like to live away from home. If you are from outside of Liverpool, you will have the option of a city-tour, taking in the sights and sounds of our amazing city. In addition everybody will go out each night for food in the centre of Liverpool and afterwards will take part in a range of evening activities to keep you entertained and enable you to meet new people and make friends.

The daytime academic sessions are designed to give you a real taste of what it would be like to study at LJMU and help you to decide which course is right for you!

The professionally accredited BA (Hons) Policing Studies at Liverpool John Moores University provides opportunities for you to gain relevant policing experience as part of your degree. During the Summer University you will visit the Liverpool Centre for Advanced Policing Studies, and during the visit be given an overview of the Policing Studies programmes that are open to you.

You will also have the opportunity to explore and talk about many different aspects of modern policing and investigation through a series of short inputs from subject specialists e.g. investigation, forensics, computing. The final day of the Summer University will offer you a choice of practical exercises that you can take part in such as working through a crime scene or perhaps giving evidence in Court.
