"Customs and Language are two of six potential elements that are considered to make up one’s ‘Human Geography’. This project aims to combine these two elements to represent my cultural background through prop design, typography and print.

Customs - Objects which represents each member of my immediate family was carefully reproduced to included text which pertains to memories associated with that individual, without it appearing immediately redesigned. The objects were then photographed in smaller groups to represent a family tree and used as background imagery for a final publication.

Language - Snippets of conversations from family members were used as an overlay to the photographed objects in a final concertina publication which was created using riso printing.”
