My Canvas Admin has been developed to help you manage your course list in Canvas. You can add and remove courses, add other tutors, download assessment information, create Course Journals and much more!
Content can be copied from course to course. This process is really easy, and allows you to select all or specific items from your previous course. We do not recommend copying any assessment items, you must create these each time in your new course.
The Canvas dashboard organises your courses into published and unpublished sections. This allows you to quickly identify the course you are looking for within the current term or course dates. You can publish courses directly from the Dashboard without having to open the course.
Publish a course
This 10-minute video shows you how to build a Canvas module from scratch and prepare it for students.
It is most useful if you have already completed the mandatory training and want a quick refresher.
The video covers how to:
- Log in to Canvas on campus and at home
- Set up your academic profile, account, and notification settings
- Find modules and add them to your Dashboard
- Organise course content
- Upload files
- Create new content (e.g., tutor notes, web links, quizzes, discussion boards)
- Customise the course menu
- Use Student View to check your course
- Publish content so students can access it
