UREC Meeting submission deadlines
The deadlines listed below apply to ethics applications requiring routine review by the University Research Ethics Committee (UREC) at a UREC meeting.
Please note:
Applications eligible for proportionate or minimal ethical review do not need to follow these deadlines and can be submitted at any time.

Routine review submission deadlines
Please note:
UREC meetings usually take place 11 working days from the submission deadline.

- Wednesday 5 November 2025
- Wednesday 3 December 2025
- Wednesday 21 January 2026
- Tuesday 24 February 2026
- Monday 13 April 2026
- Tuesday 5 May 2026

What to Expect after submission
To help ensure a smooth and timely process:
- Initial Feedback: You may receive comments from the UREC Chair shortly after submission.
- Resubmission Window: Be prepared to revise and resubmit your application within one week of the deadline.
- This helps ensure your application is complete and ready for full committee review.
Summer period (July to August)
No routine UREC Meetings are held in August due to staff holidays.
Applications requiring routine review will be:
- deferred to the next available meeting, or
- reviewed by Chair’s action or at an extraordinary meeting, if feasible.
Applications eligible for Minimal and proportionate ethical review will still be processed, but delays of up to three weeks may occur.
