Student comments in Canvas assignments | Staff guide
Canvas Assignments facilitates student engagement by allowing students to comment on any assignment attempts. This guide explains where to find and reply to comments added by students to their assignment submission.
Comment Notifications
When students add a comment to their assignment submission, an email will be sent to your LJMU Outlook address. This email will be titled: Submission comment, [Student Name], [Assignment title], [Module Code].
You will need to ensure the 'Submission comment' option in your notifications settings has been enabled to receive these updates.
The email will contain the comment submitted and a link, which will take you to the assignment and will also allow you to enter any reply. This allows you to contain any discussion around feedback in one place, and makes it easy to refer to the submission, before making a comment. The student will be notified via Canvas that the reply has been made.
This space can be used to add information about the submission or open a dialogue about marks and feedback.
