Home and away

The Home and Away collection was donated by Roger Webster, former Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Sciences. Material dating from the 1930s to 1970s was compiled by Francis Frederick Clough and his wife. Francis was the compiler of the World's Encyclopaedia of Recorded Music and was a HiFi enthusiast. His wife was a graphic designer who also collected promotional catalogues for various domestic products. Additionally, the couple travelled widely and kept leaflets and brochures to document their excursions.

The material has been used to curate exhibitions in Special Collections and displayed at our Heritage open Day events. A box list of the collection can be found here.
