Special Collections Books consists of a distinctive range of items collected by LJMU Library Services over a number of years. Some of the items in the collection were part of the original library of the Mechanics' School of Arts and date their acquisition to the 1830s.
Items in the collection include:

- limited editions
- special formats
- rare and unusual items
- items which require special handling
