Coffee and Connections in 2020

Comments from Attendees

“Thank you very much for this morning- I found it really useful -and may prove invaluable for LCAPS with identifying potential funding for research and also how I may help with the green spaces project.”

Richard Hill

"This was very interesting as I met people whom I had not met previously, it led to exciting discussions about potential research links. It is relatively easy to see connections with people in the same school but unexpected and perhaps even more dynamic opportunities can occur with people from different faculties.  I have been considering some different angles with research since attending the event and so I would recommend that others attend on future occasions in the hope that this might also happen for them too."

Emma Roberts

“Thank you, once again to you and your colleagues for arranging the latest in the series of Coffee and Connections events.

The events always prove useful and today was no exception. I never cease to be amazed by the breadth and extent of interesting and innovative activity that takes place across LJMU. These events provide the opportunity to raise awareness, to develop ideas and collaborate with colleagues on really worthwhile endeavours that make a real contribution in a variety of fields.”

Ian Whitfield

“Thanks for today’s network meeting, I was delighted you invited Ian from Centre for Advanced Policing as I hoped. I would have really struggled to make the connection and have time to explain our research and how we could collaborate. As a direct consequence we are contacting Merseyside Police to present our research to identify appropriate support to develop the idea further.

I think academics could make greater use of this event, it is a great way to meet colleagues from different disciplines and discuss the potential for collaboration. The mince pies were very nice too”
