About our services

The General Assistant and Cleaning teams provide cleaning and portering services to all Liverpool John Moores University’s Academic and Non-academic buildings. Undertaken on a daily basis (Monday to Friday) between the hours of 7am and 7pm, the teams aim to provide high quality cleaning and portering services that meet the needs and requirements of all staff, students and visitors and strive to provide a pleasant, safe and healthy environment to work and study in.

Services which are delivered include:

  • Cleaning and Maintenance (internal and external areas).
  • Event, classroom and conference set up.
  • Building internal courier service.
  • Office/furniture moves.
  • Building decants.
  • Postal deliveries.
  • Waste and Recycling
  • Transport service between buildings.

Any requests for cleaning or portering assistance should be made via contacting the Estate Management Customer Services Helpdesk, available from 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday, 0151 231 5555 option 3

Services are delivered in accordance with Estates Management Department Cleaning Specification (PDF, 1,307KB). This document sets out acceptable standards of cleaning for particular elements of a buildings structure and also the frequencies at which different room elements are cleaned.
