Kelly Chibale

Chibale undertook his undergraduate studies at the University of Zambia then obtained his PhD at the University of Cambridge in Synthetic Organic Chemistry.
In 2010, he founded H3D, a drug discovery centre that also trains scientists and which partnered with Merck & Co. in 2018.
His work focuses on the development of medicines for endemic diseases in Africa.
Chibale discovered an aminopyridine antimalarial compound, the first of its kind to enter phase 1 human studies in Africa.
In 2018, he featured in Fortune’s list of the World's 50 Greatest Leaders.
