Go abroad
There's a big world out there ready to be discovered
At LJMU, we encourage our students to learn as much from experience as from traditional learning – that’s why we’ve created a range of go abroad programmes. By taking part in our international opportunities you’ll be able to:
- experience a different culture
- put your learning into practice
- gain new skills
- make friends and connections
- learn a new language
- grow in confidence
- enhance your CV
- create lasting memories
Where can I go? What can I do?
Pretty much everywhere and anything you can think of. You could teach children in Fiji, support community health workers in Nepal, coach football in South Africa, lead outdoor pursuits in America’s remote wilderness, volunteer with conservation projects in Asia, gain hospitality experience in a world-class resort, work as an intern in Shanghai, or study in France, Italy or many other countries across Europe. With such a long list of possibilities – there’s bound to be an experience that matches your academic and personal goals.
Our programmes
Study: with over 100 locations across Europe and beyond, you could choose to study for one semester or an entire year at one of our partner universities.
Work: working overseas allows you apply your skills and knowledge to the real world, all the while increasing your cultural awareness. Find out where you can go and what you need to know.
Go Global: apply for funding to help you set up a project or activity in another country. If you have the idea, we can help you realise it.
Summer Schools: broaden your horizons with a short-term international experience. Discover what opportunities are available.
Information for incoming students
Are you planning to come to the UK to study at Liverpool John Moores University from another institution? Find out what you need to know.
“Without the Go Global fund I would not have been able to have the amazing experience I had. I would highly recommend applying, because you receive not only financial support, but support from a community of people who really care and want you to have the experience of a lifetime.”
