Want to make a difference?
By giving some of your time and energy to volunteering you’ll be able to make a positive impact in your local community, help people in need and get involved in worthwhile causes that matter to you. In doing so, you’ll build your self-confidence, develop a sense of purpose and achieve your personal and professional goals.
LJMU and Liverpool Students’ Union will support you in finding exciting, worthwhile and career-enhancing voluntary work with a range of organisations and in a wide variety of roles, from helping pupils with their reading in schools to working on environmental projects.
80 percent of employers are more likely to hire an applicant with volunteering experience. (Based on a study recently conducted by Oxfam.)
Ready to volunteer?
Come along to LJMU’s Volunteer Fair on 5 October and meet with organisations offering volunteer opportunities. Alternatively, you can search for voluntary work on the My Jobs & Placements website. Once you have registered on the site, be sure to select ‘voluntary work’ and further refine your search by location and sector.
Looking for volunteers?
If your organisation is recruiting for volunteers, why not post your opportunity to over 20,000 students and staff at LJMU?
If you have any questions about volunteering, please contact Volunteering Manager, Chris Prescott.
