Supporting statement

Yvonne Turnbull – Director, Student Advice and Wellbeing

As a member of Non-Teaching staff I am seeking election to the Governing body. I believe my experience and knowledge could make a difference in the current climate of student expectation. I have worked within Higher Education for 27 years in a student services capacity. There is increasing pressure on Governing bodies to understand the student experience whilst ensuring appropriate governance structures are maintained. My experience both within LJMU and as Chair of Governors (until March 2019) at a local primary school would give me useful experiences to inform and further support the work of the Governing body of LJMU.
