Unitemps Awards 2023

Students from across LJMU have been recognised at a Unitemps Awards Ceremony this week

The awards, which took place at the Student Life Building saw students awarded for their contribution to part-time work opportunities with Unitemps.

Over 50 nominated students, LJMU support staff and some local businesses were also at the ceremony and awarded for their commitment to creating work opportunities for students.

Situated within the Careers Zone, Unitemps is the provider of all casual work for LJMU students. Since its launch at LJMU, the jobs provider has paid out over £3.9million to LJMU students for their part time work, with almost 9,000 students currently signed up to use the service.

Professor Phil Vickerman, LJMU Pro-Vice Chancellor for Student Experience, opened the ceremony by recognising Unitemps’ achievements:

“Unitemps at LJMU has made a transformational impact on our students since opening in November 2019 and it is wonderful to see everyone here today to recognise and celebrate the important work they undertake.

“The Branch is going from strength to strength in creating placement and job opportunities across the Liverpool City Region. Our external relationships have increased, and the franchise is particularly well known in the City Region for listening to employer needs, then connecting students to work opportunities.

“I am particularly proud of the central role the franchise plays in enhancing the student experience at LJMU. Unitemps are central to placing students at the heart of everything we do at LJMU. They have contributed to so many aspects of university life, and the staff are recognised and respected across the university.”
