In memoriam: Peter Johnson

The university is deeply saddened by the death of Peter Johnson.

Peter was a valued friend and benefactor of the university and in recognition of his contribution to the university, the Johnson Foundation Auditorium, based in the John Lennon Art and Design Building, is named after him.

Peter was a Birkenhead-based businessman who founded the Park Group and he was also a keen football supporter, having invested in Tranmere Rovers and Everton football clubs.

He was awarded an honorary fellowship in 2011 for his outstanding contribution to business and society.
