Congratulations Oryx Universal College, Qatar!



Congratulations to our graduates in Qatar!

More than 80 students joined us to celebrate their degrees from Liverpool John Moores University in association with Oryx Universal College.

Oryx and LJMU marked their graduands achievements at the iconic Qatar National Convention Center on February 19 in the presence of chief guest H.E Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

This year's ceremony included the first-ever graduates of the MSc Cyber Security programme in Qatar, alongside peers from the MSc Project Management and BSc (Hons) Computer Science programmes.

The partnership between Oryx Universal College and LJMU has now welcomed over 270 highly skilled graduates who are making significant contributions economically and socially in the region.

The graduation ceremony began with a majestic procession, presided by Mr Azmy Ameer, President of Oryx Universal College and Professor Tim Nichol, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Faculty of Business and Law at LJMU, who reflected on the opportunities presented by our rapidly advancing digital age.

President Azmy Ameer commended the graduates' hard work and academic achievements and emphasised the crucial role of education in tackling global challenges. He urged graduates to use their education to effect positive change towards a more equitable, sustainable, and compassionate society.

The ceremony was also attended by Dr Hareb Muhammad Saeed Al Jabri, Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Affairs of Qatar and H.E Dr Khalid Abdulla Al-Ali, Consultant of The Minister's Office as well as executives from industry and commerce.

Dr Julia Wang, Director of International Relations at LJMU also attended the ceremony on behalf of LJMU.

Dr Wang said: “We cherish our growing LJMU community overseas and are proud of each and every one of them, graduating today. As LJMU alumni, we wish them every success in their future career and welcome them to our growing, global LJMU family.”
