Multi-faith room and new location for Friday prayers
A new multi-faith room is now available in our City Campus to support the diverse and spiritual needs of our community.
Room 3.21A in James Parsons Building is available every day for people of all faiths, beliefs and traditions, as well as anyone seeking a quiet place for reflection, meditation or prayer. It reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to diversity, inclusion and respect for all spiritual practices.
The multi faith room is equipped with:
- Prayer mats and seating for prayers, meditation or quiet contemplation
- Directional signage including Qibla indicator
- Storage for religious or spiritual items
- Neutral, calming décor to ensure suitability for all users
- An operable partition to adapt the space for different needs
- A selection of books and scriptures from various faiths for those wishing to learn or deepen their understanding
The room is fully accessible and guidelines for shared use are displayed inside the room to help maintain a welcoming environment for everyone.
New location for Friday prayers
Friday prayers will now take place in a new location. Previously held in Henry Cotton Building, the prayers will be hosted in room 2.05 of Peter Jost Building. This new venue has been selected as it better accommodates the required capacity and offers nearby wash facilities.
The space is equipped with shoe tacks and storage space, providing added convenience for all who attend.
Quiet reflection room
In addition to the multi-faith room, James Parsons room 1.39B is also available as a dedicated quiet reflection for those seeking peace and stillness during the day.
