Legal and Governance colleagues volunteer with Claire House

Thanks go out to a group of staff from Legal and Governance Services who volunteered with our charity partner, Claire House Children’s Hospice, at the end of the summer.

The team of volunteers spent a day at the Claire House Liverpool site in West Derby where their outdoor space requires regular volunteer support to ensure the grounds are maintained and improved. These outdoor areas are vital for the hospice as spaces where it hosts activities and events for the families it supports.

Our volunteers were tasked with moving a large delivery of topsoil to a section of the gardens that is being transformed into a picnic area, as well as picking up fruit that had dropped from trees in the orchard area on site to deter wasps and squirrels.

Our staff joined volunteers from another local organisation and moved around 10 tonnes of soil during their volunteer hours and cleared buckets full of fallen damsons and plums, making a huge contribution to the garden improvement projects.

The hospice is looking for volunteers to decorate some of their inside rooms which are being prepped for service users.
