Essential upgrades to IT network

Over the next week, LJMU’s IT Services team will be carrying out essential upgrades to our network infrastructure on campus.

This means we will need to have some temporary network shutdowns while the work is carried out.

During each scheduled outage, personal devices, LJMU‑managed devices, loan laptops, and all Wi‑Fi services (including eduroam and Guest Wi‑Fi) will be unavailable in the affected areas.

To minimise disruption, the upgrades will be carried out in stages over a number of days.

Monday 26 January

  • Student Life Building: 6pm – 7pm
  • Tithebarn Building, City Campus Library and Marybone Lecture Theatre: 8pm – 9pm

Tuesday 27 January

  • Redmonds Building: 9pm – 10pm
  • John Lennon Art and Design Building and Liverpool Science Park: 10pm – 11pm

Wednesday 28 January

  • Henry Cotton Building & Great Crosshall Street: 7pm – 8pm
  • Exchange Station: 8pm – 9pm

Thursday 29 January

  • Mount Pleasant Campus (including Mount Pleasant Campus Library, Aquinas Building, John Foster Building, Education Building, Hardman House, Rodney House, Egerton Court and Roscoe Court): 8pm – 9pm

Monday 2 February

We apologise for any inconvenience these essential works may cause and appreciate your patience as we work to further enhance the reliability and performance of the LJMU network.
