Five-star ratings for LJMU catering outlets

LJMU's catering outlets have successfully maintained the highest possible food hygiene standards following a series of routine inspections carried out by the local council over the past month.

Environmental health officers visited multiple sites to assess food safety practices and award ratings on behalf of the Food Standards Agency. The inspections form part of regular checks to ensure compliance with national hygiene regulations.

LJMU Catering is proud to confirm that all inspected locations achieved a five-star rating, reflecting excellence in food safety and hygiene. 

The Core Café on Tithebarn Street was inspected on 28 January, followed by the Core Café in Redmonds Building on 17 February. Most recently, the hospitality and food production kitchen was assessed on 24 March.

Each site received the top five-star rating, demonstrating consistent high standards across the university.

The results highlight the team’s ongoing commitment to maintaining safe, clean and high-quality food environments for customers and staff alike.
